The Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) course is developed based on another popular examination that focuses on oral skills in English.

 

Unlike the SCA, the GESE is a more academic based examination which resembles the testing style in schools, for example it requires students to answer in complete sentences. Therefore, it is more suitable for older students to enhance their oral techniques.

Our GESE curriculum focuses on learners’ oral ability and the way to develop ideas and knowledge around different topics and themes through conversations, which encourages our learners to be more motivated on the usage of English. 

 

This course helps to increase the use of communication skills, and the ability to initiate and take control of the interaction independently. Grade 1 and Grade 2 GESE courses are available at our center.

By doing one-to-one and face-to-face oral practices in class, learners will be able to increase their confidence level in communicating and sharing ideas and opinions based on various issues. Besides, it also provides an opportunity for young learners to engage in realistic interactions or conversations in English which most Hong Kong students lack.
